WAKE UP!

Awareness Brings Answers!

This week's Tactical Tuesday hits home big time—we’re talking about luck… as a tactic.

Every blog post... Everything I share in this forum, is a synchronicity in my life. Meaning, I was guided here. I started paying attention to the synchronicities, signposts, repeating numbers and truly unbelievable situations in my life.

By following them I created my own luck. (Divine intervention?)

I started keeping track... everything's connected. Everything.

If this speaks to you... If you feel it in your gut, please leave your comment below.

💥 The comment box below showed up TODAY because of my recent 316 synchronicities.

A few weeks ago, I did a post on Synchronicities. As I was researching and writing for that post, I had my own synchronicities and documented them. Check it out here.

Since that time, I've been keeping meticulous track using a Synchronicity Log you can find free in the Morning Toolkit.

🔸 The last three mornings I've woken up and looked at the projection alarm clock on the ceiling, it said 316... 3 days in a row! So, this morning I started investigating. I dug deeper and tried to find the meaning.

I'll explain quickly then we'll get on with creating luck in our day.

📖 Tim Tebow and his John 3:16 Experience

Tebow had game statistics that were similar to the referenced Bible verse John 3:16. The playoff game was played exactly three years after Tebow wore the eye black inscribed with the Bible verse John 3:16.

The game finished with what was considered an upset victory: the final score of the game was Denver Broncos 29 and the Pittsburgh Steelers 23. Tebow is known for his affinity to the Bible and his faith in Jesus Christ.

  • Tebow accumulated 316 passing yards.

  • Tebow's passing yards averaged 31.6 yards per completion.

  • The Pittsburgh Steelers time of possession in the game was 31 minutes and 6 seconds.

  • CBS televised the game, with ratings peaking at 31.6 between 8:00 and 8:15p.m. Eastern Time.

  • The only interception in the game was thrown by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers; he threw a second-quarter interception on 3rd-and-16.

  • This game was played 316 weeks after Tim Tebow declared his intention to play college football for the University of Florida.

💠 Tebow said that he came to realize, “My eyes were on the wrong thing, my heart was in the wrong place,” adding, “I knew the truth, I just wasn’t focused on it. I was having all of these selfish ambitions and goals.”

He added that he realized that his focus was on winning the game rather than on the Gospel, which he described as “the greatest love story [and] rescue mission of all time.” (I love that analogy!)

Tebow beautifully summed up the Gospel message by unpacking the meaning of John 3:16, “When we look at John 3:16, for God so loved the world, he gave because he loved us so much with this love that, honestly, it’s hard to even fathom.”

He added, And the best definition of [love] is to choose the best interests of another person and act on their behalf, and Jesus chose our best interest.”

The light represents selfless love and choosing the best interests of others. The hand is diverse and realistic, showing texture and warmth. The background transitions from deep shadow to soft dawn light, symbolizing hope and sacrifice.

My Interpretation About Today

After sitting with this 316 x 3 sign/information in meditation, knowing that it's pointing me in the right direction, my takeaway is:

💖 "Everything is Love... and the best definition of love is to choose the best interests of another person and act on their behalf."

And that is my mission. I do the research and translate. Every day at 4:44AM CST I publish science-backed details to upgrade our lives from Soul, through Mind, through Body, to Everybody.

Consciousness, Mindset, Physical Activation, Community Connection and Growth.

This fulfills my life's Passion (finding the truth) and is my Purpose... to share with you what's in our best interest from my soul-led, science back research.

Back on Tuesdays Tactic!

My main statement for you in this moment is:

You are one decision away from a completely different life!

Today you’ll learn:

  • What research reveals about lucky people.

  • The #1 mindset shift that separates lucky people from everyone else.

  • The difference between fortune (what happens to you) and luck (what you create).

  • The 3-step framework to creating luck: Build your sailboat, Recruit your crew, Hoist the sail.

  • The 6 kinds of risk (and how your risk profile might be keeping you stuck).

  • Why asking for a “5-minute favor” can change your entire life.

  • Simple ways to “stir the pot” this week so new opportunities can find you.

What if the secret to success isn't doing nothing, but having the discipline to think differently?

🥃 The Bourbon on the Rocks

Let’s look at a real-life scenario that defines this concept.

In 1994, Mel Robbins was a brand-new legal aid attorney in New York City. She attended a United Way benefit. She walked up to the bar, ordered a bourbon on the rocks in a plastic cup because she planned to leave early.

Behind her, a man said, "That sounds great. Make it two."

She turned around. It was Christopher Robbins. They started talking. They found common ground. They kept talking.

✨ Fast forward to today: Mel is celebrating her 30th wedding anniversary with that same man.

Now, ask yourself: Was that luck? Or was it fortune?

If Mel had stayed silent, if she had looked at her phone, if she had been too shy to turn around, that entire world—her marriage, her family, her future—would not have existed. She didn’t wait for fate to hand her a husband.

She created the condition for the meeting by being present, open, and willing to engage.

Most people walk past their "bourbon moments" every single day. They see an opportunity, feel a nudge, and then let fear or inertia shut the door.

🔬 Science Teaser

"Fortune is the things that happen to you. Luck is what you control."
— Dr. Tina Seelig, Stanford Neuroscientist & Author of What I Wish I Knew About Luck

Dr. Seelig has spent 25+ years studying the neuroscience of leadership and success. Her research proves that luck is not a mystical force.

It is a skill. It is a series of micro-decisions that increase your surface area for opportunity.

Watch Dr. Tina Seelig break down the physics of luck and why "chance" is actually just preparation meeting action.

Did you catch the part about the "Riskometer"? Pause here and map your own risk profile before reading on.

🍀 Explanation of Core Concept: Fortune vs. Luck

Here is the breakdown most people get wrong.

We often use the word "luck" to humble ourselves. "Oh, I just got lucky." But Dr. Seelig argues that we must distinguish between two distinct forces:

  1. Fortune: These are the cards you are dealt. Where you were born, your genetics, systemic barriers, global pandemics, economic shifts. These are external. You cannot control them.

  2. Luck: This is how you play the hand. Luck lives in the gap between stimulus and response. It is your agency.

When you conflate the two, you become a victim of circumstance. When you separate them, you realize that while you cannot stop the rain (fortune), you can build a shelter, dance in it, or sell umbrellas (luck).

🔬 Science Spotlight:
Neuroplasticity confirms that our brains rewire based on repeated thoughts and actions. When you adopt a "lucky" mindset—expecting opportunity and acting on it—you strengthen neural pathways associated with pattern recognition and proactive behavior.

You literally train your brain to see doors where others see walls.

⛵ Core Concept Detail: The 3-Step Framework

So, how do you actually create luck? Dr. Seelig uses a powerful analogy: The Winds of Luck.

Opportunities are like wind. They are ubiquitous; they are always blowing. But wind only moves you if you have a sail. To catch the wind, you need three things:

1. Build the Boat (Internal Foundation)

Your boat is your prepared mind. Without a sturdy hull, you capsize when the wind picks up.

  • Clarify Core Values: These are your keel. If you don’t know what you stand for, you will drift into unethical compromises or misaligned opportunities.

  • Audit Your Story: Stop telling yourself, "I’m unlucky." Start telling yourself, "I am a creator of opportunity."

  • Map Your Risk Profile: Use the "Riskometer." Rate yourself 0–10 on Physical, Emotional, Social, Financial, Intellectual, and Ethical risk. Know where you are playing it safe.

2. Recruit Your Crew (Relational Capital)

Luck rarely travels solo. It moves through people.

  • Ask for Help: Make it easy for others to help you. A specific, low-friction request opens doors.

  • Lead with Generosity: Introduce people. Share credit. Send thank-you notes. What you give compounds back to you.

  • Follow Up: Relationships are luck pipelines. One conversation is rarely enough. Consistency builds trust.

3. Hoist the Sail (Action & Curiosity)

"The harder I work, the luckier I get" is only true if the work is strategic.

  • Stir the Pot: Do something novel. Talk to a stranger. Apply for the stretch role. Novelty creates luck surface area.

  • Curiosity as a Multiplier: Ask more questions. Listen deeply. Let discovery lead you.

  • Reframe Constraints: In Dr. Seelig’s famous $5 challenge, students who ignored the limitation and focused on value creation generated hundreds of dollars. Luck favors problem-solvers.

💪🏼 Solution to Problem: Overcoming the "Unlucky" Mindset

If you feel stuck, beaten down by life, or skeptical, here is the solution: Stop waiting for permission.

The problem isn’t that opportunities aren’t there. The problem is that you are walking past them with your head down.

Dr. Seelig shares the story of Oliver, a young man who wanted to be a "Luck Coach." He didn’t wait for a job posting. He emailed Dr. Seelig asking for five minutes of her time. He made it easy for her to say yes. He followed up with a thank you note. He sent ideas on how he could help her.

Result? She hired him as a research assistant. That five-minute favor launched his career.

The solution is to lower the barrier to entry for your own success.

Don’t ask for a marriage; ask for coffee.

Don’t ask for a CEO role; ask for advice.

Stir the soup! Add something new to your life!

✨ REAP PRACTICAL APPLICATION ✨

Your 4-Step Rewire for Recognizing Opportunity

  • R — Recognize & Run Out:
Notice the thought: "I shouldn't bother them," or "Nothing ever works out for me." See it. Don't judge. Ask: "Who is aware of this limiting belief?"

  • E — Exchange & Envision:
Replace with: "This feeling is a signal. Awareness is already here. I am one decision away from a new outcome."

  • A — Activate with Action:
Right now: Identify one small "pot-stirring" action. Send one email. Compliment one stranger. Ask one question. Do it within 60 seconds.

  • P — Program & Prosper:
Repeat tomorrow. Awareness takes care of the wiring.

🔬 Science Spotlight:
A 2021 meta-analysis of 33 studies found that mindfulness-based interventions significantly reduce activity in the amygdala (fear center) while strengthening the prefrontal cortex (regulation center).

Translation: Awareness isn't just "feeling good"—it's measurable neurobiological change.

🚨 CRITICAL WINDOW: FIRST 5 MINUTES

The REAP reps work best before the world gets its vote.

When you wake up, your brain is in theta — highly programmable!

During this window, your critical faculty is offline, cortisol is rising to wake the body, and your subconscious is wide open to suggestion.

That's why what you think, say, and feel in these first 300 seconds sets the neurological tone for the entire day. That is your window. That's why I created:

The 5-Minute Theta Mornings Routine
No decisions. No willpower. Just open, read, rewire.

Stack the reps, baby!

A serene morning scene. A journal, a pen, and a cup of coffee on a wooden table next to a window with soft morning light streaming in. A smartphone nearby displaying a simple checklist. Calm, organized, inviting.

❓ FAQ (QUICK ANSWERS)

Q: If luck is created, does that mean bad things are my fault?

A: No. Remember the distinction: Fortune is what happens to you (illness, accidents, systemic issues). Luck is how you respond. You are not responsible for the storm, but you are responsible for building the boat. Blame keeps you stuck; responsibility sets you free.

Q: I’m an introvert. Isn’t "recruiting a crew" exhausting?

A: Luck doesn’t require you to be the loudest person in the room. It requires you to be the most present. Introverts often excel at deep listening and thoughtful follow-ups, which are high-value luck behaviors. Quality connections matter more than quantity.

Q: How do I know I'm progressing?

A: Less identification with "bad luck" stories. Faster recovery from setbacks. Increased curiosity. You start noticing patterns and opportunities you previously ignored. But remember: even asking "am I progressing?" is the ego checking its resume. Rest as awareness. That's enough.

⚡ 5-MINUTE MICRO-ACTION (FOR NOW)

  1. Breathe: 3 deep breaths. Exhale longer than inhale.

  2. Ask: "What emotion am I resisting regarding my current situation? What if it's here to teach me?"

  3. Inquire: "Who is aware of this feeling?" Rest as that presence. 10 seconds.

  4. Choose: One action—allow the feeling OR ask: "What would I do if I stopped believing I was separate from opportunity?"

  5. Commit: Say out loud: "I am awareness. I don't resist. I recognize."

Done. One REAP rep. One step closer to your perfect day.
