WAKE UP! Awareness Brings Answers!
You know that moment when you're driving somewhere familiar and suddenly realize you don't remember the last ten minutes?
Your body was driving, but you weren't there.
That's not just a driving thing. That's how I lived for the better part of a decade—checked out, running on old programming I didn't even choose.
I tried everything. Nothing worked. Then I found a saved video of someone doing EFT. I'll never forget standing in front of a bathroom mirror, dog-sitting over the holidays, tears running down my face. I did a few rounds. Felt nothing. Did it again that night. Again the next day. Forgot about it. Next holiday came—and the trigger was gone.
We all have intuition. But most of us were taught—before we could tie our shoes—that we don't know what we know. And that programming doesn't just stay in childhood. It follows us into adulthood. It runs the show—until we clear it.
The cost? We miss the nudges. We ignore the red flags. We stay stuck. We become walking wounded—carrying programming from age seven that's still running our lives decades later.
But that programming can be cleared. Today, I brought in an expert who's going to show us exactly how. Her name is Mary Sise, and she's one of the most experienced EFT practitioners in the world. She's going to teach us how to use tapping to clear the blocks and finally trust ourselves again.
Let's get into it.
🏆 Strategic Sunday UPGRADE
Most people think intuition is a gift you either have or you don't. Mary Sise did the opposite—she treats it like a signal that got buried under childhood programming. Here's the real problem: you can't trust your gut if you learned, before age seven, that your gut was wrong.
🎖️ The Upgrade: Before you ask your intuition for guidance on anything this week, tap first. Clear the fear of getting the answer, the fear of acting on it, and the fear of what you might lose. Then ask.
(Full REAP breakdown and theta application below 👇)
That's not just a tapping sequence. That's how you get your signal back. Awareness, as always, brings answers. Here's the breakdown.
"Under the age of seven, anything that happens, anything that's said programmed you for who you think you are—whether you're worthy or not, whether you're stupid, your brother's the smarter one. That runs the show."
"Intuition, inner knowing—we all have it. It's been covered up by layers and layers of people telling us we don't know what we know."
Don't have time for the full podcast? I already pulled the exact moments that matter below. Hit play if you want to see it live or keep scrolling for the breakdown.
Seeing it done makes it real. Now, let's extract the exact mechanics so you can apply this to your life today. Keep reading for the core concepts, the 5-minute audit, and the REAP framework to wire this in for good.
🌞 The Core Concept: Your Intuition Isn't Missing—It's Buried
Mary Sise has been teaching Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) for decades. Her core insight is simple but profound: we all have intuition. Every single one of us. But it gets covered up by layers of programming—most of it installed before we could even read.
The good news? Tapping clears the blocks. Here's how it works.

🟢 What Tapping Actually Is (And Why It Works)
Tapping—technically called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)—uses the body's meridian system. You know acupuncture? Same points. Different application.
Here's the mechanism: When you think about something that "throws your system off"—your ex, that job, who done you wrong lately—your energy field goes haywire. In Eastern medicine, they've mapped the meridians that correspond to different emotions. When you tap on the beginning or end point of the meridian that goes with that emotion, something shifts. The energy starts flowing again.
Mary explains it this way: "In tapping, there's a specific sequence and you hit all the meridians. You don't have to be a therapist to know what's off with you."
That's the beauty of it. You don't need to diagnose yourself. You don't need to figure out if it's sadness or rage underneath the sadness. You tap all the points in sequence, and the body does the rest.
Key Takeaways:
Tapping uses the same meridian points as acupuncture—but you do it yourself, anytime, anywhere
You don't need to know which emotion is stuck—tapping the full sequence clears what needs clearing
There are over 40 versions of EFT, but the original includes eye movements, which Mary emphasizes for trauma and shock
🟡 The Pre-7 Programming That Runs Your Life
This is the part that made me put my pen down and just sit with it.
Under the age of seven, your brain operates primarily in theta state. That's the same brainwave state a hypnotherapist puts you in to reprogram your subconscious. It's a highly programmable state. Grab your free 5-Minute Theta Mornings Routine below.
Which means: everything that happened before age seven got installed as truth. Whether you were worthy or not. Whether you were smart or stupid. Whether it was safe to trust yourself or not.
Mary puts it bluntly: "Think about it. We may just take a moment and travel back in time. What did you get programmed? You can make a whole list of things that you got programmed. That's like, whoa, no wonder I think that way."
She gave a beautiful example from her own life. Her grandson, around age four, did something he shouldn't have. Instead of shaming him, someone said, "Oh, Nana, I made a poor choice." Mary adopted that phrase for herself. "It was just a poor choice. Nobody said, 'Shame on you, you bad boy.'"
But most of us weren't raised with that language. Most of us got programmed with shame, fear, and the message that we don't know what we know.
Key Takeaways:
Before age seven, your brain is in theta state—highly programmable, like a hypnotic trance
Everything said and done to you in that window got installed as "truth" about who you are
This programming runs the show—until you clear it

🔴 The Betrayal Wound (And Why It Blocks Intuition)
Here's where it gets personal.
Mary explained that one of the biggest blocks to intuition is betrayal. When you trust someone—a parent, a teacher, God—and they betray you as a little kid, it's huge. You don't just lose trust in them. You lose trust in yourself.
Because you thought they were safe. And they weren't. So your own judgment must be broken.
"It's such a soul thing," Mary said. "When they betray you, it's huge to your psyche."
This is why so many of us don't act on our intuition. We hear it. We know what to do. But we're afraid. What if I'm wrong? What if I make a mistake? What if I can't handle it?
Those "what ifs" trace back to childhood moments when mistakes had harsh consequences.
Key Takeaways:
Betrayal by someone you trusted as a child doesn't just hurt—it breaks your trust in your own judgment
Fear of acting on intuition comes from programmed fears about what happens when you get it wrong
The "what if" file is real—and it's running in the background until you clear it
🔵 The Tapping Sequence (Step-by-Step)
Here's the actual sequence Mary walked us through. You can do this right now.
1. Rate Your Discomfort (0-10)
Before you start, rate how upset you are about the issue. This is your baseline.
2. The Setup Statement (Neurolymphatic Point)
Rub the sore spot on your chest—down three inches and over three inches from your collarbone. Say:
"Even though I'm feeling what I'm feeling, I accept myself."
3. The Intention Statement (Resistance Point)
Tap the point on the side of your hand (the "karate chop" point). Say:
"I'm choosing to release [the fear/anger/pattern]. All the roots and origins of it. And all that it means and does to me."
4. The Tapping Sequence
Tap each point 5-7 times while staying with the feeling in your body:
Eyebrows (where they start)
Side of the eyes
Under the eyes
Under the nose
Under the lip
Collarbone
Under the arms (four inches down, poke around—it's often tender)
Under the chest
Top of the head
Back of the hand
5. Eye Movements
Head straight. Close your eyes, open them. Look down to one corner, then the other. Roll your eyes in a full circle one way, then the other.
6. Humming and Counting
Hum (right brain), then count 1-5 (left brain), then alternate.
7. Repeat
Do another round of tapping. Most people need multiple rounds.
8. Re-Rate Your Discomfort
Check in. Almost always, the number drops. If it doesn't, more detective work is needed.
Key Takeaways:
Always rate before and after—it's your proof it's working
Stay in your body—if you're dissociated, tapping doesn't work as well
Multiple rounds are normal, especially for deep programming

🟣 The "Little You" Work
This is the part that made me tear up.
After tapping, Mary guides you to speak to the "little you"—the version of you under age seven who got programmed. You hold them. You soothe them. You tell them what you know now.
"I want my little one to know it's safe to feel this," Mary said. "The adult you is there with the younger you. The awakened you is there with the blocked you."
Then—and this is the powerful part—you "grow them up." You skip over the hard parts. You show them that life turned out okay. You bring them to present time.
"You're not six anymore," Mary said. "When she's ready, open your eyes and say, 'Look out my eyes and see where I am today.'"
Key Takeaways:
Speak to the younger version of yourself—they're still inside you, carrying that programming
Hold them, soothe them, tell them what you know now
"Grow them up"—bring them to present time, show them life turned out okay
⚪ Before You Ask, Tap First
Here's the practical application for intuition.
Mary's guidance: before you ask your intuition for guidance on anything, tap first. Clear the fear of getting the answer. Clear the fear of acting on it. Clear the fear of what you might lose.
"Somebody reached out to me the other day because they got some bad news," Mary said. "I said, 'Let's breathe. The answer you already know the answer. The answer is right within you. When you breathe and open up, you can get it.'"
She wrote back and said, "I knew you were going to say that."
Of course she did. Because we already know. We just don't trust it.
Key Takeaways:
Tap before asking for guidance—clear the fear first
The answer is already within you—tapping removes the static
Your intuition is guiding you to what's stuck—if you feel "I should work on this," that's your intuition saying "we're ready to clear this"

❓ Quick Reality Check (Before We Begin)
🔸 You might be thinking: "This sounds like woo-woo. Tapping on your face? Really?"
The Truth: I get it. I was skeptical too. But here's what shifted it for me: when I tapped in front of that bathroom mirror, I wasn't believing in anything. I was just desperate.
And it worked. Not because of magic—because of physiology. Group tapping research shows cortisol drops 43-47% in one hour. That's measurable. That's real. And for those of us who've been stuck for years, measurable is enough.
🔸 "But I've tried everything. How is this different?"
The Truth: So had I. Therapy. Journaling. Meditation. All helpful. But none of them addressed the pre-age-7 programming. None of them cleared the betrayal wound. None of them got me back in my body.
Tapping did. Not because it's magic—because it works on the meridian system, which is the body's energy highway. You can't think your way out of programming. You have to clear it.
🚀 The REAP 5-Minute Accountability Reset
This is how we think. This is how we move. This is how we show up! Don't just read this—run one full round right now:
R — Recognize & Run Out (Minutes 1 & 2)
Name one area where your intuition has been speaking but you've been ignoring it. Maybe it's a job that drains you. A relationship that diminishes you. A decision you keep putting off. Fact-check it honestly: has ignoring it actually made things better, or just kept you stuck? Pause the old "I'll deal with it later" story.
E — Exchange + Envision + Emotion (Minutes 3 & 4)
Exchange your input. Instead of waiting for certainty, envision what it would feel like to trust yourself completely. See yourself taking the next step—not the whole staircase, just the next step. Feel the shift from "what if I'm wrong?" to "I can handle whatever comes."
A — Activate with Action (Minute 5)
Write down the one thing you will tap on before the day ends. Not the whole issue—just one block. Commit to it before you close this tab.
P — Program & Prosper (The Theta Window)
Celebrate tiny wins and lock this in during your neurological goldmine: the first 5–10 minutes after waking, or the last 5–10 before sleep. Stack the reps. Presence becomes identity. Identity becomes reality!
(Note on the science: This is the foundation of Hebbian learning—often summarized as "neurons that fire together, wire together." Repeated mental patterns physically strengthen neural pathways, a principle first established by Donald Hebb in 1949 and continuously validated in modern neuroplasticity research.)
